Hydrogen Technology, Inc. (“HT”) announces a new project to introduce innovative hydrogen energy technology in Taiwan. The project is a strategic partnership between HT, Taiwan’s H2 Energy Co., Ltd. (“H2 Energy”), and Taiwan Optical Platform/Cable MSO Group to support Taiwan’s decarbonization. It uses proprietary technologies to contribute to Taiwan’s transition to clean energy.
HT’s project was initiated after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. At the time, H2 Energy Chairman Liu, Chi-I, ing(Liu), and the Taiwanese NGO Buddhist Compassion Relief TZU Foundation supported Japan. HT decided to deploy its clean energy technology in the Taiwanese market as a token of appreciation. Taiwan’s semiconductor industry is globally significant, and high-purity hydrogen is essential in manufacturing. To meet this demand, HT will deploy its advanced hydrogen purification technology to the Taiwanese market to promote sustainable energy solutions.
In addition to the semiconductor industry, HT is also investigating the development of hydrogen stations in Taiwan and working to improve the infrastructure for the supply of clean energy. This will accelerate the spread of hydrogen energy throughout Taiwan, decarbonizing a wide range of transportation and industrial sectors.
As part of this project, HT conducted a demonstration at the SHALUN Green Energy Technology Demonstration Site in Tainan City to show the potential of hydrogen energy in Taiwan.
We look forward to working with HT to open up the future of clean energy in Taiwan,” said H2 Energy Chairman Liu. ‘We are grateful for the opportunity to introduce Japanese hydrogen technology to Taiwan,’ added May Liao, Chairman of the Taiwan Optical Platform/Cable MSO Group. In particular, with the cooperation of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the potential for applying this technology to the semiconductor industry and developing hydrogen station infrastructure will be enhanced, contributing to Taiwan’s economic growth and decarbonization.”
The project is proceeding based on the Memorandum of Understanding between HT and H2 Energy signed on January 28, 2024, which aims to accelerate hydrogen energy technology development in Taiwan and achieve the decarbonization goal by 2050. HT will continue to promote clean energy in the Taiwanese market and contribute to the global decarbonization trend.
